Hated Religon

For the past few months (or maybe years) everytime there is a thread relating to Islam all I see is hate messages or messages against Islam.

Can someone explain to me why you guys Hate Islam so much...

I know with all the bad think some so called muslims are doing around the world, but does that give reason to hate the religon and the people who follow it.

I even seen comments by Senior OCUK memebers that really shock me! So ok freedom of speech but there are limits?!

I think my main problem with the portrayal of Islam in the media and in general conversation is the muslims are not doing enough to publically condem these crimes that are committed in the name of Allah. Consequently people feel that if you are not loudly condemming then you must be quietly condoning.

With reagards to incidents like Rohan Williams statement on the introduction of sharia law into the UK, many feel that this is symptomatic of a muslim lack of respect of the existing structures of Brisith society.

I agree with the stupid things people are doing in the name of Allah. However for 10's or maybe 100's of years westerners have came and done may bad deeds in the muslim countries, dont you think that they have reached boiling point.

Am not saying the should do the things they are doing right now.

Besides we are going in to politics now. Am talking about the religon.

Islamic extremists yes, but then you cant judge an entire religon on a few idiotic extremists !

I follow the Shia law of Islam, and from what I have read and learnt I believe its the right way to follow Islam.
When you have crackheads come on TV and preach rubbish from both Sunni and shia and bring a bad name to Islam and the media just makes it even worse, people start talking.

And its bad... the truth is never told.

It pains me to see people come out talking rubbish and others just think bad of the religon

There's only two things I hate in this world.

People who are intolerant of other people's religions..........and the Muslims.

I dont know what Sharia law is, frankly I should not need to! You should follow British law or move to another country.

If you want to follow Sahria law go to Iran and practice it.

Neither do I, yeah I should follow british law where a drug dealer get 6 months for selling drugs, a murderer gets 3 years for kiling someone, and teenagers get a caution for beating an old man. Some law.

Anyway I wasnt talking about law until you bought it up.

Some of the countries have taken Islam in to their own hands and make a simple law look so bad

So if your a Muslim and you nothing about Sharia law which is set down in the Qur'an and by the prophet Muhammad doesn't that make you a bad Muslim?

no not really. let me explain:

I know it to my understanding that interest is not permitted, thats what Sharia law is I think. I dont take loans from bank and all the interest I get from my accounts go to charity.

If I take drugs, and drink Alchahol and do other sins that are well knowen in christianity, judaism and islam. Then that makes me a bad muslim as am defiying laws in my religon.

so do you have one of the Islamic mortgages, or not got a mortgage at all?

The main responsibility of a man/women after marriage (or before) is to have a home or shelter for his/her family. If a muslim is in a country where the only way to buy a house is via mortgage, then he is allowed because the money he is getting is not gone for fun, its gone for shelter.

If someone takes a loan for fun and pays intrest on that then that is not allowed.

HSBC, has Islamic mortgages now, approved by some people i forget the name of, basically the bank buys the house and you then rent it back from them for a period of time before the house becomes yours.

But surely if you follow a religion you must know/understand it's teachings or can you just pick and choose

So if I'm a Christian and I've never read the bit about "though shalt not commit adultery" it's OK for me to commit adultery as it's not against the law in the UK, in a Muslim country with Sharia law I could be stoned to death for such an offence!

Yes some countries still follow that and am kinda with it. The older you get the more you learn and the more you follow a religon closly. I only learnt about interest no permitted last year and am 25

I dont quite follow? stoning is a punishment. I think its a great law, thats why we have very low adultery rate. People dont do it.

I Live in the UK and I respect the britsh law, I have to, I live here.

But some countries its different. Besides you need to take the factor on how much a country is modernised. Look at UAE, its like Europe

Every Muslim I've ever met picks and chooses which parts of their religion to follow.

Yes that is also a problem, I know many friends (muslim) who unfortunatly smoking (drugs) and drinking.

lol no Bun, the point of this was to find out why people hate Islam, and I came to this conclusion:

1. People in Islamic countries are not doing themselves justice by spoiling the name of Islam
2. The media just twists and turns stuff as it likes
3. People in the western countries believe what they see on TV and are not educated enough to know the difference between what is right Islam law and what is wrong that the people around the world is following.

Or can they "cop out" as they live under the blanket of UK law!

Are they even "Muslims" at all but people that like to bleat how they would love to live in a Sharia paradise but in real terms would **** their pants!

lol no, stoning is only for commiting adultery, not for driking etc.

Within time they will learn its wrong and God will forgive them

If the members of any other religion were regularly slaughtering innocent people in acts of terrorism, ruling over infamously corrupt nations, calling for the murder of Danish cartoonists, yelling "Bomb, bomb UK" on the streets of London and rioting violently on the slightest pretext, I can assure you that the people on this forum would be equally outspoken against that religion and its followers.

To date, Islam is the only religion that fits this description.

Yes I agree this is wrong 100% because this is not Islamic behavior, A muslim should not behave this way.

Islam is also known to be the state religion of certain nations which are notorious for committing some of the worst human rights abuses in the entire world. This grates upon those of us who subscribe Western values; for, strange as it may seem, we perceive a moral contradiction here.

Not entirely true, 100 years ago westerners used to burn women because they say they where witches, importing slaves, murders, deceptions, betrayal among royalties, trickery and theft of others natural resources.

The point is we are no angels, but not the worse humen rights record. We just have crackheads for leaders who do as they please. The Islam at the prophets time is not the same Islam as you see now

But adultery is no joke, how would you feel like it if your wife (God forbid) cheats on you. when a man marries a women or vise versa it should be for ever, not till he/she gets bored. Besides I said I agree with it.

Most countries dont perform stoning anymore

Adultery break up family and distroys all morals. What will happen to children when familes break up. Perents cant be arsed any more and they end up in the streets

I don't have a hatred for all Muslims or for Islam, they can chose to live their lives however they bloody well like.

I have two friends who are Muslim, one is from Iran and the other I'm not sure about but both are very nice people, possibly two of the nicest people I have ever met. One of them follows Islam quite precisely where as the other is very 'westernised', he likes to drink and gamble and I have even known him to smoke weed. I think he is more like the people who claim they are Christian because they were baptised yet aren't religious in the slightest.

I really have quite a strong hate for those 'extremist Islamists', though. I hate the fact that they try to impose their oh so lovely views on us. This country has been kind to them by letting them in here but they still moan because certain things aren't what they want it to be like, which is downright disrespectful. They can't hate it here that much or else they would have left long ago.

2. Upholding the real ideals of the Quran
