Hatred for Intel is growing... Daily!

If you're honest with yourself mate you've made a total balls of this, and behind it all is your loathing of intel, and subconsciously you've got that at the forefront of your mind and it has totally clouded your judgement and informed how you have gone about things.

God only knows what you were expecting with that MOBO.

Step back, and think about it.

I once did a straight swap, of a Q6600 & Mobo for the Phenom 9550 and DS3 Mobo purely so I can say that I had a 9550 in a DS3 Mobo in both Intel and AMD flavours. and even though the Intel 9550 was almost twice the power of the AMD, the AMD was still my main PC.

Pretty much says it all really, you've got no common sense whatsoever.

You've still not posted the details of your mobos...

Oh well, since you couldn't be bothered I'll have to ask the following (probably insulting but..)

Are your mobos 1155 or 1156? Both have i7 chips that fit in them and your i7 is an 1156. I was only concerned as people have mentioned z68 boards which are 1155s

Wow, talk about insulting.

Ok, well since I have not bothered to inform you, then let me enlighten you.

Read post number 9 because I never bothered to let you know that they are 1156 in that post.

Again in Post 31 I utterly failed to mention it again!

How rude of me to not bother twice!

Loathing of intel?

If you only knew just how many intel I have, you will see that I have no such loathing.

Perhaps try reading more than one post and you will see.

Why? I thought it was fun.

At the time, I had 2 such intel based systems, and one was a file server... I simply wanted to have a giggle and I did a straight swap. I knew the Intel was a faster setup, I knew that, but I didnt need speed. I just simply wanted to play with a half decent AMD setup, because my last AMD before that was the Opteron 175 and when I got my first allendale ( E6300 ) I have stayed with Intel ever since.

I just wanted to see what AMD were like thats all.

I consider myself to be lucky enough financially to be able to do such things, but I am very glad that I did it because I love that AMD setup... Sure its slow, and I have only now upgraded it to 8GB and a new CPU but I still love the thing.

Whats wrong with that?

Hell, I am even considering swapping more bits just to piddle abut with 6 or even 8 cores even though I know the horror stories that people are telling me, but thats NOT what I need the stuff for... I merely want to play about thats all.

Right so anyway... No more replying now.

Its clear that I have explained myself a number of times over and over and I am starting to look a tool because people are not reading the posts properly and I am half trying to answer although I simply dont have the time to prat about replying.

I have a couple of hours ago, bought my mates I7

Its now in my Gigabyte Mobo running 16GB and its fine.

My I3 is in the Asus at 3.8 with another 16GB and thats fine.

My iffy I7 is back in its original Mobo along with 4GB and its alos running sweet... I will put that into my daughters PC again.

End result being that all 3 are now working happy happy!

I have given him a couple of Q6600 CPUs and Mobos and a bundle of RAM for it.
