£176 left to spend, oh minus postage so £166

Still Main drives and cpu cooler to get just,

Seagate Barracuda 500GB or 1TB (fastest mech drives around) and a Crucial RealSSD C300 64GB (or 128GB if feeling rich :p).

Then a Freezer Pro 13 (a Gelid Tranquillo would be better, but OcUK doesn't stock them anymore).

If you dropped the graphics down to a HD6870, it will cost less and still fly through games - I haven't found anything I can't play on max yet and your cpu is faster than mine! :p

Corsair Force 60GB F60 2.5" SATA-ll Solid State Drive (CSSD-F60GB2-BRKT) £99.98
(£83.32) £99.98
(£83.32)
Corsair A50 High-Performance CPU Cooler (Socket AM2/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366) £32.99
(£27.49) £32.99
(£27.49)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500418AS) £28.99
(£24.16) £28.99
(£24.16)
Sub Total : £134.97
Total : £161.96

I think these would be ideal or you could get an Akasa venom which would make your total £164.96 , i just added these up because you are already paying for shipping

Not sure that 60 or 64gb would be enough as a main drive tbh

Can't get monitor with this insurance cheque, has to be specific types of items and receipt is sent to insurance company.

Have that^^ 50% off logitech code to be used in their store, just added a G500 mouse and after 50% discount it is £1 cheaper than OcUK just :). Now if I was after a G19 keyboard it would cost £74.99 just. Ahhh I'm skint too :(

The ssd is mostly used as a boot drive for your most used apps and and maybe a game or 2 max and then you have a second drive as your storage drive .

Would I get windows Ultimate 64 and all usual programs like office, browsers, Steam and Black Ops on do you think? Can't remember what space my old C drive was sitting at.

I wouldn't get a SSD yet as Intel/Crucial releasing new ones next month and the prices are still a bit steep.

You may aswell use a Samsung F3 Spinpoint for now with the spec you said, a decent case like CM dominator II/Lancool Dragon/Haf 912 and a decent cpu cooler like Akasa Venom/Titan Fenrir EVO.

I agree with the 6950 too but a shame you can't get a better monitor as the card will be overkill though least it will last you a good while at that res.

i had windows and like 5 steam games on my c300 64gb, wanted more games and didnt really notice much of a difference in game so switched my steam games over to 1tb hdd.

So if it makes little difference to gaming (loading maps etc)what does it make a difference too? Just boot times and loading the usual programs like browsers, outlook etc?

You could ditch the ssd and go with this instead

I have a case, well I am not sure if it is going to good enough, well big enough it's a Thermaltake Tsunami Dream

How does the hybrid sata drives fair? Big enough storage, quickish boot times and £99 for 500gb

Love the look of the Fenrir Cooler too so will check that out

Have changed the basket from the ATI 6950 to a Nvidia MSI 560 gts ti, the cards are a fair bit shorter in length so will fit my Tsunami Dream case better. Plus with my resolution at the moment it will still be good. But when I do get round to upgrading my monitors am I going to regret not getting the 6950 you think?

I could always get a new case of course but most are the same as my tsunami, dimension wise anyway I think.
