Hi all.

Me and my m8 are starting wow again from level 1 (not played the game in years)
and i have few questions if you guys/girls could help me out with.

(1) I have a retail wow account and also wotlk addon but not the BC one is it worth me buying BC anytime soon as i starting from level 1 or wait till i level a bit. ( i know i need BC before i can wotlk

(2) My m8 does not have a wow account he only went on my mine few times.

So should do that recruit a friend ?

Do we both get x3 xp and how many days free trial is it 10 days ?

(3) Last one :D what class would be better hunter or mage if i am just mostly going to group with my m8 at first till we make friends.

Thinking hunter as it has a pet so keep aggro of us but mage can do a lot of AOE damage i think so that's always good.

1) BC is a good investmeant now as you can take up jewell crafting which is one of the best money making profs in the game and level it as your playing. But you or your friend may lose intrest before bc is needed. Also Draenei is a good race to go , time you leave the starter place you will be about level 20, plsu the extra hit % is very useful.

2) Yes you level up a lot faster, i seem to remeber it been 10 days but it has a level cap of 58.

3) Warlock tbh best of both worlds. I find warlock the most fun class in the game.

However if you guys wanna do instances and stuff one of you is better going a tank or healer class, it makes getting groups with the deuongon finder that much quicker.

1) Getting from 1-60 now takes a lot less time. I'd just purchase the x-pac when you need it. If you order it from the store that reminds you of "The jungle" or any other online retailer, its only about £6 and will be delivered in 2 or 3 days.

2) If you recruit a friend from your account you get tripple xp when grouped with your mate, and you get a 2seater flying mount x-53 touring rocket sent to a character of your choice on your account. (its flying so can only be used in TBC or Wrath.. well at least until Cataclysm)

The free trail is 10 days, then if he buys the game and buys a month of playtime I believe you get a free month of time and the bonuses.

Remember to recommend the game to him via your battlenet account and not have him start an account first, he has to use the links that they send out or it wont register.

3) Play what you fancy. With triple xp you and your mate can roll a small army of different characters to see what you like playing. Nobody can tell you what class will suit you best. I personally didnt get on very well with my mage and my hunter only ever hit 20ish. Other people swear by one or the other. Take your time in choosing.. your going to be playing the character for quite a lot of hours.

IF your not desperate to start playing again now. With the release of Cataclysm, the whole world will be changing. A group of fellow OcUK'ers are all going to re-roll at this time. Not sure on details yet but from what I've met of the guys interested so far, a real nice group of players

the 10 day free trial will only allow ur friend to lvl to 20 iirc, then ull have to purchase vanilla ect

the recruit a friend is very fun, and fast for the experience, ive gone from 1-60 with 3 of my friends in around 9/10 hours of play. plus the account which does the invites will get a grant a level bonus. if 2 of ur friends lvl their chars to 60, they will have 30 levels each to grant to a character of ur choice, so ull get 2 lvl 60's while they get 1.

the cross realm group finder makes this a lot easier also, so id recommend pickin classes thats gonna benifit your levelin grp, tank/healer/dps so ur not waitin around for ages on random members.

Yeah my m8 going to be a tanker class i think.

And i mite try healing class this time round see what its like but then we mite need the extra damage from say hunter if its just us 2 grouping most of the time to begin with.
 
Paladin or even a Druid sounds about right for you, you can respec to healing when your group has enough damage and also tank if you wanted.
 
Personally, mage pally combo is awesome :D
prot pally will get you groups in seconds and mages are great for dps.

You will get to 60 in no time with your 3x levelling
 
I yeah i am going to roll out a mage and my m8 going paladin :)

Professions i am thinking of doing are jewelcrafting and mining.

I upgraded to bc then i tried to add my wotlk cd key to upgrade my account and all i get is An error has occurred while claiming this key :(

Guess i need to call them to sort that out.
 
I would recommend not taking jewelcrafting until higher level's if you're levelling together.

I would say one take up skinning as a major profession, if you take that with mining you will make a lot of gold as you level, Depending on how you level (it will likely be much quicker for you to grind than quest once you have some decent quest rewards).

If you do level by grinding which will be good with raf levelling herbalism would also be good, one of you could take this in concert with tailoring, once you hit northrend if you're still levelling together you will make lot's of gold by aoe grinding humanoid mobs, due to a passive ability tailors get later on.

You decided what realm you will be rolling on yet? im on arathor it's generally a nice friendly place and i dont mind dropping you both some bags and a few gold to get you started.

I am Going to be playing wow for long term invested money in it now lol :D
And my best m8 will also be playing as long i do i would think.

I will let him know what you said about skills to take and we sort out who having what but as i am going to be mage i think i should take tailoring i guess.

We have not selected a realm to play on yet so any is good really and thanks for the offer with bags and gold it would come in handy starting out :)

Are you horde or alliance ? we like to go horde as we like the characters better like undead for me and orks for my m8.

That's another question about starting areas would it be good idea for me to run/teleport to my m8 starting location (orks) or would miss out on a lot of the starter quest or can i do the ones around the orks area as well if i am the undead.

I am alliance myself, you shouldn't have any problems levelling with your mate if you level in orc area or if he levels in undead area.

If he is going pally you will have to be blood elf as horde, most of the quests will be available to you in any starting area although depending on what class you roll (if you do go mage paladin this wont be a problem) class quests may not be available to one of you without going back to your own starting area.

From what i understand from dual-boxing a while back, you should be able to (When grouped with your mate) either summon him or he summons you to your/hsi current location and there isn't anything in place to stop you from teleporting to another races starting area.

And also my account linked with my m8s one now as well so all good hope to have a proper go on it later :D
 
Yeah We have our main characters that we won't level unless we both online at the same time.

And other toons for when the other offline.

Going to test hunter out tonight seems like a good one for solo play.

I was looking for this action bar and the map at the bottom of the screen but i installed the healbot addon but did not look like that i probs done some thing wong lol
