Hi guys,
So I decided to buy a new PC, and I want you guys to have a look at my setup so far
here we go:
Cooler master cosmos.
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600.
2X Western Digital Raptor WD740ADFD in RAID0.
3XWestern Digital Caviar RE2(500gb)(if possible in RAID5..?).
EVGA nForce 680i SLI 775 A1 Version .
Ballistix Tracer (4x 1GB)(4GB total).
2X EVGA Geforce 8800 GT ssc in SLI.
Enermax Galaxy 850W
2X Lite-ON LH-20A1S 20x.
Windows Vista Ultimate-64 bit

I intend to use the computer for gaming and overclocking:D
So please let mee hear what you guys think of it.

thanks.

Seems good to me, i dont think there is anything wrong with it.

Do keep in mind that there is a new nvidia chipset coming out, and new graphics cards supposingly in the first quarter of 2008.

For whats available now though its a good spec!

Edit: You might want to avoid the RAID0 setup, no real advantage i think... Maybe get a single 150GB raptor instead? Also if you want to overclock check the stability of the mobo with 4x1 sticks! some mobos are funny with 4 sticks on.

thanks for the reply's guys^^.
anyways is it even worth it to wait will those new Nvidia boards? and I thought using 4*1 would be fasten than using 2*2GB??

thanks.

I think it would be worth it to wait, especially as the new nVidia GPUs are around the corner.

EDIT: Above I meant that you've traveled a bit too far on the price/performance curve. For instance, 74 GB Raptors are ancient. I think you'd be better swerved by a pair of Seagate 7200.10 250 GB, single platter disks. Other components can be lowered in spec but deliver just about the same performance.

4x1 seems to the the economical choice with the most recent mobos.
