Where to start..

Drop the 950 and mobo and get SandyBridge 2600k.
Green HDDs are slow, designed for low power storage, not a gaming PC. Get an SSD.
5870 is a little old, might consider a 570gtx instead.

Go for a 2500K/2600K based build. Also, you have included dual channel RAM; X58 supports triple channel RAM.

sorry for the stupid question but does the 570 gtx do direct x 11. Sorry if its a stupid question been out of the loop for a long time

Yeah, the 570 does fully support dx11 as well as other features!

There are some good benchmarks here for you comparing the 570 with other cards, 5870 included.

Loose the silly expensive cooler and get the K series of the chip - means you can overclock it.

This

Sandybridge runs quite cool so I'd suggest a Corsair A50 or Gelid Tranquillo.

Probably don't need the soundcard too unless your big on your audio!

This is easy to overclock.

You change two things! It's worth it as well, performance boost is massive.

on the msi boards there's a feature called oc genie which on the GD65 (possibly 55 and 53) there's a button that you press which gives you an instant overclock of about 4.2GHz. on the others its either a function in the BIOS or you run a program through windows, not sure which one, and it does the same thing, just without the button.
