thanks ill still go for the non k series ive had e8400, i7 920 i7 860 and blakc edition amd and ive never overclocked

Never overclocked a i7? What are you doing here? :p

Still, imo it's a bit of a waste to go non-k for a gaming rig on that budget, but nevermind.

MSI GTX 570
INTEL CORE I5 2400 3.10GHZ
MSI P67A C45
FRACTAL DESIGN R3
XFX PRO 750W
SAMSUNG 1TB F3
KINGSTON HYPER X 4GB GENESIS GREY
CORSAIR A50
DVD -RW

comes to 768

Im not going to get the k series as i never overclock

Good components, great case and PSU.

The A50 seems OTT since you are hell bent to not overclock,.

and the P67 motherboard is a bit of a waste in that respect too. Really, I would spend the extra £30 and get a K, 'just because'.

750W is a bit too much is you are not gonna go SLI. 650W is plenty for single GPU.

How about a K edition chip with an MSI P67A-GD65 and then all you have to do is push the OC Genie button on the motherboard and you have an instant 4.2GHz overclock:D

man you guys are tempting! ill go back and see what i can do. re: olivers post about not ocing an i7 i recall i did bump up the i7 860 to 3.3 and that was it and i think i change the multiplier on a blakc edition amd :P

MSI GeForce GTX 570 1280MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £239.99

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor £173.99

MSI P67A-GD65 Intel P67 (socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard - (Sandybridge) ** B3 REVISION ** £139.99

Fractal Design Define R3 Midi Tower Case - Black Pearl £84.98

Antec High Current Gamer 620W Power Supply £49.99

Samsung SpinPoint F3 1TB SATA-II 32MB Cache - OEM (HD103SJ) £43.99

Kingston HyperX Blu 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9AD3B1K2/4G) £35.99

Sony Optiarc AD-5260S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £15.98

Total : £801.41 (includes shipping : £13.75)

£784.91 without shipping :p

Only problem is that the case isn't in stock:(

edit: in reply to your last message (did not see it as i was writing this) to overclock SandyBridge you only change the multiplier, no messing with the BCLK:p

(but as I said before GD65 has that magic button:D)

Just realised I left out a CPU cooler:eek: Stock cooler should be good enough for upto 4.4GHz depending on your airflow, room temps, etc, but if you feel comfortable performing an overclock just using multiplier then you could drop the motherboard to a C45 (still has OC Genie but it's a software instead I think) and get a cooler.
