Hi all,

Have Asus F2a85-M-le mobo
AMD A6800k proc.
8 gb Patriot Vipe 3 Mamba 1866mhz

Since build the system has never reached the 1866, always defaulting to 1600mhz. I read that the settings for the Patriot ram should be 9-9-9-24. The board was set for 9-9-10-24, so I changed it...MISTAKE !
Now when I switch on the monitor goes into standby before I can see the F2 screen to enter the BIOS. Feel a right tube !
Is there anything I can to to resolve the situation ?

Thanks anyway.:(

No worries, In the BIOS, you should be able to select the an Extreme Memory Profile (XMP) for overclocking. This should have all the predefined values for 1866MHz including voltages and timings. XMP aren't normally selected by default as these values are outside JDEC specifications so you have to select yourself. Check your motherboard manual on Memory settings.

I didn't think AMD supported X.M.P?

Last time I was in the BIOS of an AMD based system there wasn't any X.M.P.
There also wasn't an AMD equivalent, However, I remember some noise being made of an AMD version of X.M.P

AMP I thought "AMD Memory Profile"?

edit i just found this.. Can't link as there are competitors on the site:

You can enable the XMP performance profile on most motherboards, including AMD boards, directly from the BIOS settings. XMP, also known as Extreme Memory Profile, is a memory overclocking performance technology "designed to take advantage of the mega-gaming features built into Intel technology-based PCs," according to Intel. PC gamers find this type of technology most suitable for game play, as it increases speed and performance.
