As you may know, I've been trying different settings etc to get a stable OC that I'm satisfied with. Well after reading several posts all over Google ( And here) I decided to try this:

1: Disable Enhanced SpeedStep Technology
2: Disable Spread Spectrum
3: Disable C States
4: Set Multiplier to 42
5: Set Manual vcore to 1.192v

I had reinstalled the Standard Stock Cooler as I wasnt to happy with the Noctua,(with paste) and I've decided to try Noctua with those Thermal Pads, as apparently you get 2 - 4c lower temps rather than with Thermal Paste, but anyway Temps on Full load with Prime95 (Standard Stock Cooler) never exceeded 75c.

If this sounds ok, I'll stick with it, as I'm not really looking to Shoot into Space, just a little Speedup on Video encoding,

What CPU do you have? Which Noctua was it?

If it's a 3570K, you don't need to disable any of those and you can leave voltage on auto. I have used "Normal" VCore and offset is currently at 0.000V.

I don't know where you heard about thermal pads providing better temps than something like Gelid GC-Extreme or MX-3 or even the Noctua NH-12 if that's what it's called. Surely only some premium of premium thermal pad made of pure gold would be better.

How much paste did you use? You only need a small pea sized blob of it in the centre of the cpu heatspreader, then you just install the heatsink and it will spread the paste for you perfectly due to the pressure.

Yes I have the i5 3570k and the Noctua NH-U9B-SE2. As for the paste, just a small dot on the center of the CPU about the size of the letter O on the keyboard. I set everything back to default, and then punched in 42 and left everything else as is, The thing now is before CPU-Z at load was 1.192v this time it fluctuates between 1.264v 1.256v and CPUID says 1.25 1.25 1.27 I put the Noctua back and set back to 1.192v ran Prime95 and temps are Max 64c As for the patch, the Computer store I use had it on there website and it mentions the temp difference there http://www.ple.com.au/ViewItem.aspx?InventoryItemID=609321&CategoryID=445

I can't see thermal pads with the stock cooler giving better cooling performance than a performance cooler with some correctly applied thermal paste

Are you sure the noctua was seated correctly?

Well I think I've finally cracked it! that is reaching 4.50GHz with Stability I had to switch and swap setting like a Madman, but finally I found what appears to be just doozy :) Multiplier 45 RAM Timings 9 9 9 24 set at 1600MHZ Manual vcore set at 1.256v with a UltraHigh LLC = 1.272v and Optimal Power Phaze setting :) this is the Screen image

http://imageshack.us/a/img138/7011/32602688.jpg helpful comments are always a plus, so can anyone confirm this looks good? :)

Edit: No It's Not! No problems while stressing with Prime95 yet 20 mins later while ripping some CD's Blue Screen Crash!! WTF! I'm tired of this now I'll wait til I get a New Board. I have this one in mind http://www.ple.com.au/ViewItem.aspx?InventoryItemID=610530&CategoryID=608 I believe the Ultra Durable Boards are Ace for Overclocking.
