My internet is driving me insane.
I'm one of them unfortunate ones that live in an up to 20 meg adsl area aka 5meg crap.

Any way it's been ok, I'm on talk talk btw. But it's so slow at the moe, I can click a link and then it lags like as if it's thinking what to do next, this lag can be anything from 5 to 15 seconds, and as soon as its woken up it loads the page fairly quickly.

Anyone know what could be causing this? It's kinda like a 56k modem but once it knows what it's doing it turns into super fast amazing 5 meg.

I had a similar experience a while ago. It all started when my exchange was changed for 21CN.

Using routerstats I saw that noise margin was often hitting zero. Anyway, cutting a long story short, I bought a new faceplate for the BT box (BT Openreach VDSL ADSL NTE5 Adaptor Faceplate), this also had a built in filter so the filtering was done at source, and took a line directly from the adsl port on that to the router. My connection speed went from approx 11,000 Kbps to approx 18,000. Noise margin is now rock solid at 3.

No rewiring was required, just unscrew the old faceplate, put the new plate on and the old faceplate plugs into the new one - 5 minute job.

Might be a dodgy filter, I use to use a XTE-2005 filtered face plate, actually saw a 1.5Mb speed increase, but it isn't always the case.

I would change to Be, if it is available there?
