ok i have read from reviews that 6800 get around 20k on 3dmark01 but minesa x700pro and its getting that..... have i made some sort of mistake?

01s more down to the cpu that the card. Have a look for some 05 scores for a real comparison

As above, 03 is a pretty good graphics test as well.

Use 05 for your gpu to test pure graphics power, my 6800nu/gt both score 18k on 01 - on a barton 2500@3200
