Dont do it, not worth it imo, i dread to think what mine would be like if i didn't de-lid. Went straight in from new.
If you want to try and get a better chip, cut your loses and sell it.

Im so tempted to buy a better known clocker myself mate. Mine runs on fairly decent voltage at 4.5ghz. But the temps are insanely high if stressed. 1.2625v it hits the mid 90's in p95 small fft, heck my old 3770k at 4.5ghz on 1.3400v only maxed at 81c in ibt which is more demanding than p95.

Where do you guys see that batch number on 4770k?
Is it on the box or on the cpu?

Yep, and always keep the box if you use liquid pro/ultra on the ihs. When you clean it off you end up removing the cpu print details.

think i must have gotten 1 of the better chips, i need 1.36v for 4.7ghz. do you know your batch number?

Nope afraid not. It has a dirty great waterblock bolted over the top of it. How about you?

yeah my cpu batch number is L316B, some people reported really bad overclocks with this batch but mines has been pretty decent
