Have I just blown up my PSU or mobo?

Was just installing a new Hard drive with the PC turned off, then when I had I finished I turned the PC on and didn't get anything on the monitor. I realised that I hadn't plugged the power into the graphics card and so reconnected the chord, rather stupidly while the power was still on...

Big blue spark... PC off.

And now I can't turn it back on. The light on the mobo is on, but can't get it to turn on. Can't believe I've been so stupid.

I guess the only choice is to borrow another PSU and try that.. damnit

I was going to suggest checking the plugs fuse until you said the mobo LEDs were on. A blue spark you say? Doesn't sound good, but as you say, you will need to get hold of a new PSU to try.

Should have edited my other post but ah well, which PSU have you got?

With a bit of luck it should only be the PSU thats blown.

It is/was a Tagan 500W jobby, about 2 or 3 years old. If it's just the PSU then it's not too bad. I've been looking to get a silent PSU anyway :p
