After having much trouble with the Acer XB270HU and going through 6 of them, then seeing that some people were also having issues with the Asus PG279Q on overclockers.net, I decided to wait on getting a new monitor until a better IPS Gsync came along say next year, or if Dell do one etc (which I'm assuming they will eventually as they are just bringing out a TN Gsync monitor).
However, remembering some of the best screens I've had have been Dell (I still fondly remember my first 2405) I looked up the U2715H to possibly tide me over from my old TN 60Hz 1080p Iiyama. £390 was a bit much to tide me over when I could put that towards the next main screen I'd buy, but when I looked on overclockers the other day I saw there was one available for £260 that was B grade. Instinct took over (as it seemed a deal at a glance and could be used as a second screen next year) and I bought it.
However after this I've seen horror stories about b grade items from overclockers and customer support couldn't give me anymore info on the reason it was b grade. Some say they are usually immaculate but others say it might have dead pixels or bleed which I'm worried about after the Acer. Guy on the phone said if there was any problems I could return it but then another guy said if there wasn't enough of an issue (re: bleed and pixels) I'd be charged collection (which OCuk haven't done before in the past when I have had a few returns).
It's due on Monday and I'm just wondering if I should just refuse delivery now and save my money just for the next Gsync screen I get whether that's a new one with a non AUO panel or the Asus one with the kinks sorted. Know there are a lot of knowledgable folks here who might be able to help, the screen should be a jump up from what I have but what I have does still work fine, even if it's not the best picture.
Sorry it's so long a post, to summarise: should I refuse the item and save my money or accept it and use it?
