Hey, I've just ordered a few bits for a build... now I believe I've made a gargantuan mistake.... I've order the krait 2011v3 board with a 5820k processor , I also ordered a 64gb kit of ram... 4x16gb 2400mhz ram ... I've just had a sudden realisation that the i7's only support 64gb but unsure as to if I'm going to run into loads of problems ... ??? And yes I know I should have checked all this but I want all there this morning when I ordered so feel free to take the mic lol

Yes I have windows 7 that I'll be using for the build , the board says that it's supported up to 128gb but the i7 has the memory controller which in theory would only see and use 64gb ? Or am I totally wrong here ?

Its going to be fine.

You also have differences in RAM capacity per dimm, you gone for the simplest route of 16GB per dimm.

Theres many hits if you search of these cpus running 128GB RAM.

I think you'd also need to have Win 7 Professsional for that amount of RAM, as Win 7 Home Premium 64-bit max RAM limit is 16GB.

So if you have the Home edition, then upgrade to Win 10 Home which allows more (128GB).

Thanks guys, yeah I was thinking of windows 10 anyway so may go that route... it's going to be a steady build as now I have to work out my watercooling setup and graphics cards, the issue I am going to run into is I have no idea on watercooling as to what is the best fittings etc to use ... I shall ask this in the proper place though. ..

Research suggests that with a bios update 128gb is possible, altho I won't use that much ram I do higher end builds for the love of building pcs so would like to attempt this eventually
