I had on of these baby's:

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-181-MS&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=938

However I had to RMA the card as it was faulty. The place where I brought the card from, has sold out this card, and they have no ETA of when they would get the card back in-stock!

I couldn't wait, so I brought myself one of these:

Yes!!! I've gone GREEN:p Is this card good compared to the MSI 7970 Lighting.
I feeling that I've downgraded myself due to the 2GB memory, while the 7970 had 3GB Memory

I play games at 1920*1080p

Thanks in advance!!

I think you have made a terrible mistake. It is the best 680 available and will only play games at full detail and with a very good fps return sadly. :p

Welcome to the club and let me know how you get on :)

you will be fine and at that res you wont see a difference, personally i would have gone for the 680 anyway :)

Ive had both ati and nvidia and im sorry to say this but i will always be buying nvidia from now on due to there superb drivers.

Yes im a fanboy !

Have a merry xmas with your new card :):):):)

Wont be much difference apart from the price ;)
Worth noting int he future to always buy from overclockers then :p

More of a sidegrade really, if you are on a 60hz monitor then you wont see any performance difference, both cards will max games at a pretty constant 60FPS. Enjoy the card

What was faulty with the 7970 by the way?

I got a water block for it, put in on, then after nothing happened, no power whats so ever! , so I dont know what I did wrong really:confused:

get a ESD strap and a grounding plug adapter for next time

I find this extremely unlikely... I've been building PC's both personally and professionally for over 15 years and I've never once had a component fail due to ESD from not using an ESD strap...

unless the OP has wool socks and thick pile carpet and a habit of doing the moonwalk constantly while building computers, in which case I suggest you wear shoes or do it barefoot and touch a radiator with your hand once in a while rather than waste money on an ESD strap

if you are just doing mods you can even leave your PC plugged in at the wall but off at the PSU and just touch the case once in a while to ground yourself

Superb drivers? *smile* yeah ill just stick to my very bad and poor performance 12.11 drivers that does nothing but lower my performance.

to the OP: don't worry about the vRam size. 2gb is plenty for 1080p. The card is a good performer.
