After taking a while to decide I just ended buying the 7970 Matrix... But after seeing the Nvidia price drops I am now having 2nd thoughts.

My card is due to land between 3 & 4pm.

Should I get an MSI / EVGA 770?

Or maybe even the 280 Toxic which is now in stock..

OCUK - makes my head hurt!

No the Matrix platinum is the best 7970 you can buy and would be on par with the toxic and likely beat out the 770.

i returned mine last monday. let me tell you, it isnt.

i would return the 7970 unopened and get a 290 (non X) or a 780.

for the price i dont see 770 being a good option to be fair. the 280x toxic probably better.

but for the sake of a few quid, i would get the 290 (non x)

I assume it was faulty? Otherwise why isn't it?

Why?

The 290 IS a 7970...

slower, less vRam, 256Bit bus vs 384bit.

No. the 7970 Matrix was the right choice.

Well I have had my 7970 for a little while now and I have only really put it to some proper use this weekend. I have heard that Battlefield 4 is a bit buggy and glitchy but I am not sure what is at fault here.

My GPU is running at stock and nothing has been changed.

Hold to that 7970 Matrix. Is better than the GTX770, and with the 13.11b 9.2 got DX11.2 support also. And Mantle is around the corner today.

I only had time to run Heaven benchmark this morning on a single run and by scene 15 of 26 it started to have square artifacts starting from the bottom left and running along the bottom till the middle of the screen.

I will run it on a loop test this evening and see what happens.

well i had 7950 , then got matrix 7970 it only had troubles hot loud big not perfectly stable, so Dsr that and got msi gamer oc 770 gtx 4 gig for 280£ from different retailer but they increased in price or out of stock atm anyway.

and when clocked seems as fast or faster then 7970 super quiet not hot at all and uses less power .

happy with upgrade and my last nvidia card was 8800gts g92.

Unstable memory usually creates texture problems stuff like that are usually GPU related, there seem to be a lot of Matrix having these problems it makes you wonder if Asus are even testing them or just selling them cheap because they've thrown any old GPU in them.
