Have I put my dump valve on properly?

Hi folks,

I bought myself one of these and I've just put it on as it was described to me here in the second post.

Now when I start the engine it opens on and when revved you can see it close and then open.

But when you give it some beans it's not giving off the "tttssscchh"

here's a picture of what I have done - here

have I fitted it correctly? by going via those instructions I received everything seems to be in the right place.

wrong hole maybe? :) make sure the dump valve is going to the hole attached to the intercooler (if it has one??)
The one you block off needs to be the one going back to the turbo.

Wrong hose....

Turn it 90 degrees to the right and fit it to the newly blocked off hose.

when you say give it beans, are you just revving the engine standing still are actually driving the car? (the amount of load on the engine makes a difference)

I took it round the block for a spin.

Hopefully though there wasn't any damage done ;)

I can't take it out now as It's blocked in by my sisters Seat Ibiza but just on the driveway a quick rev of the throttle gives you a satisfying "tish"
 
You haven't located the valve correctly. Look around the outside of your house until you locate either a large round cylindrical object with separate lid, or a squarer plastic one with wheels and a hinged lid. Open the lid, place dump valve inside and then shut lid. Wait for at least a week, then check to see if the valve has vanished. If so, dump valve is now located correctly at your local dump.

What was I thinking as In the fact that I fitted it incorrectly? or the fact that I've bought one and fitted it anyway? :p

Pft, ignore this lot. When every Corsa or Clio you see has a 2 litre turbo engine with a dump valve, THEN it becomes chav. Until then, I'll happily smile everytime I see a car with one fitted.

Can't wait to see some videos.

Also the fact that i've met NEM and he's met me and knows what I'm like, I mean I'm no Chav but I've ALWAYS wanted a dump valve.

Or is it that at the next meet he won't be waitinig around for me anymore? because I can now keep up :D and be able to dump when I'm right next to him....or infront ;)

thats cause he's one of the biggest chavs i know. On our Herts night out, he stole a corsa and headbutted a bouncer.

I dunno who's going to be browsing but when i go out tomorrow in it I'll video it and post it on here :D



Can't wait to see peoples reactions when I go past a group of people and they see an old car dump :D
