Have Pent 4 with a 3.2 is this the time to upgrade?

Have Pent 4 with a 3.2 on an Asus P4P800.Is this the time to upgrade?
I am thinkin of perhaps of a Q9450 but don't have a clue about the motherboard
Graphics - perhaps a 9600GT

Edit: Ok I see what you're asking now - you want to upgrade and were just wondering if this was the right time for it I'd probably hold off for a little while longer - at least until the Q9xxx series chips are in stock. We might see the price of them go down a bit when they're readily available.

Is your current system a duel core or not and also assuming your motherboard is a socket 775 can it take a C2D or would you have to replace that as well?

if it's a P4 3.2ghz HT, then it's not a dual core...

Go for the wolfdale dual cores, will be faster than the quads in anything that matters at the moment unless you arent likely to upgrade for another 2 years in which case go for the quad for future proofing.

Had the same CPU as you and upgraded to whats in my sig and the difference is noticable even in general surfing but multitasking is the way it was meant to be
