Have they really depreciated this much ?

Does single-digit MPG around town doesn't it?
That, combined with the ludicrous costs keeping it in good condition, makes it rather expensive to run.

However, I suspect fuel consumption plays a big part in residuals these days.

What running costs?! V10s don't cost much to run as they're lazy and un-stressed, especially if you only do 50 miles per week!

Haha, the fact you've reverted to simply just trolling speaks volumes about your debating ability. Why don't you keep it in the other thread and explain your point to us?

OP, they are this cheap because they are a car that nobody wants to pay for! M5/6's are truly scary when it comes to running costs.

Not to mention it's 5 years old now.

Which it really shouldn't on car's like this, as if you were ever in a position to buy one, fuel is definitely the least of your worries.

This is true. But when you're talking single figures it does start to take the ****.
Range can be in issue as well.

There is a simple reason why these get so cheap.

If you can comfortably afford to run this sort of car, you can buy a new or a nearly new one. You'll then keep it for 3-4 years or so, then bin it. Then its the age of the one in this advert.

So where is the market for it? People who can shrug the costs off dont really want to bother with an 06 plate one. People who can only afford an 06 plate one can't afford to run them anyway. So price continues to crash.

I see the point in all that you guys have said but in terms of performance for initial outlay is this car not in competition with porsches and astons ? (that hold their value considerably better) And do they not have running costs in the same league ?

And ultimately, it lands in the price bracket of enthusiasts who, otherwise, could only dream of one.

Long may that continue.

You'd have to be some enthusiast* to take on an aged / miley V10 M car mind you!

Just how bad are we really talking here? £200 per month average running costs? £500?

Probably close to £500 when you factor fuel consumption, servicing, repairs & insurance and that old gem, depreciation....... (dependant on age of both owner & car i guess!)

Edit: Double post. :o
