Hi all

I use the YouTube app a lot and it's getting tiring having to manually select hd for my videos. Does anyone know how to make the app default to the highest available res?

It's a note 2 connected over 5ghz Wifi. Videos run fine at high res when selected.

Cheers.

I have 'Only stream HD over WiFi' ticked and it will automatically pick 1080p where available, but only if i've spun the phone landscape for full screen, if it's just in the little top window it will only bother to stream 480p.

It does this to me too, the stupid thing being that when I had a really slow internet connection, it'd more often default to HD.

If you are rooted and run xposed, there is an app which can do this for you. Works well

You'll never know if it's the app or just YT being poor again. My recommendations like to disappear one by one until they're all gone, it won't auto select the right resolution, it buffers needlessly on a perfectly good connection and some of my subs don't show up. The web version is very little better if at all.
