I have a strange issue with the PC.

Not long ago I upgraded my rig to an Intel i5 2500k, Gigabyte P67 UD4 mobo.
I also got a new PSU, a Seasonic S12 600W I think.

Anyway, the build went fine, installed XP Pro that is fully updated from Windows update to SP3.

All seemed fine, but the other week, I kept getting BSOD when logging into Windows, it flashed up so fast I can never see what its saying, it then restarts and the same happens again, it does this a few times sometimes before I can get into Windows without BSOD but almost all startup programs give me errors and dont load.

I found that when I was finished on it and turned it off, I would get the problems again if I started the PC again say a couple hours later. I always use Windows Shutdown and turn off the monitor but dont turn it off at the plug. As a test, I have been turning it off at the plug the last week so no power at all is going to it until I go on it again. Touch wood, its been problem free since.

What I cant understand is how turning it off at the plug each time cures this? Is the PC not shutting down properly and going into a sleep state instead of powering down fully? I have checked Bios and tried all the 'Wake On' option, eg, mouse, keyboard stroke or usb device. Ive turned all these off.

Any ideas anyone?
