Please see below for what I need help with

Background info...

I've got a Dell 2408 (A00) which has a really puzzling problem...

When it's connected in DVI as soon as the computer is switched on it goes into power saving and won't come out of it, whether the machine is restarted, or Windows is loaded up - it just stays like it in DVI 1 and DVI 2.

I have tested it with a:
BFG 8800GTX
BFG 7300LE

Same problem with both...however using it with a 6800GT it works normally.

I've tried it on two machines with different cables and different motherboards (all Asus) but to no avail - power saving with 7 or 8 series, works with 6 series.

Today I have received a replacement monitor from Dell (again A00) and it does exactly the same thing.

To help me narrow it down:
Please post your specs:
Monitor revision

Type of Nvidia card

Type of Motherboard

Any problems encountered

I desperately need to try and track this problem down so any help is most appreciated.
I know a power save problem existed with ATI cards where it wouldn't wake up from power, the answer was to alter something on the graphics card. This is a different issue though, it goes into power save as soon as it detects a signal from the graphics card.

Many thanks

Can you confirm it's definitly REV A01 it should state this on the Dell packing label on the outer box - a lot of customers have received REV A00 not REV A01

It's definitely a revision A00, I've had it a couple of months now but have been so busy I haven't had the time to investigate it properly, and I didn't think it would happen on the swapped monitor as well. :(

This thread has had 75 views as I type this but no specs yet...

Can any readers with an Nvidia card and 2408 please just tell me what graphics card they are using (make and model) with their setup so I can try and narrow down the problem.

Thanks :)

I've read something about this issue before, I think it might be a known issue. Once the A01s arrive Dell should be able to get your firmware upgraded.
