Have you ever donated?

I use ATI tray tools a lot - I really like it. Today, I noticed he has a donate link on the home page, so I dropped him a tenner. Not much I know, but it was just a quick gesture to show my appreciation for a great piece of software that I get a lot of value out of. This was the first time I have ever donated to a free piece of software.

So, anybody else ever donated to free software they use a lot?

I have donated to mIRC when I used it just cos I got so much enjoyment from mIRC scripts.

Have also donated to Spybot a couple of times as it is a god send.

Depends on the software, but if i use something daily, its free and i really like it, then yeah, a small donation.

Even free software has costs...

As someone who has a few utilities and stuff floating about, and I ask for a donation, trust me when I say that "tenner" you have sent will have made his day!!!

Not only have you shown your appreciation, not only have you given him something that he wasn't really expecting today, but you've probably added a little more fuel to the fire to spur him on to create something else.
