Haven't built a system in 3 years, need advice

£336.95 and then about £11.50 for shipping. You shouldn't bother getting a graphics card just yet as there are bound to be price drops nearer to the games launch.

Good time to build, unless you are willing to wait for Bulldozer, which could be 2 weeks to 2 months, who knows for sure.

I'd get what getcarter is getting (mobo, CPU, I would personally get 8GB because I can but 4GB is plenty really). Also a CPU cooler for overclock, and a SSD if you have the budget, but it's a luxury item.

The HAFX is a nice case, but really big. Do you need such a big case? Personally, I recommend the Obsidian 650D, Fractal R3, CM 690 II in various price ranges. If you like the HAF looks, then the small HAF will do as well.

For graphics, as much as you can afford. 6950 2GB, GTX570, GTX580, 6970... Depends how much you want to spend.

Example. There's room for changing quite a few things.

YOUR BASKET
1 x Asus ATI Radeon HD 6950 OC 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £224.99

Total : £737.03 (includes shipping : £11.75).

Thank you very much, it gives me a good idea of what I should be aiming for with my price range. It would make sense to wait until the new games come out to get a new graphics card as well, so thank you all for the links.

Unless your planning on using your old system as well as your new system you may as well re use your old power supply. It's a corsair so it should have a five year warranty.

I haven't heard anything bad about XFX power supplies and they are a well known brand so you shouldn't have any problems if you decide to buy one.

+1 on Olivier's spec.

Alternative motherboard for money-saving purposes :)

MSI P67A-GD53

Hi there,

will this RAM be compatible with that board?

On the specs it says that boards got support for DDR3 1133/1066 but the Kingston memory does have that listed.

You sure about that? which one is it? try reading some reviews of the case in question and they usually show the filters for the fans and on the front bezels of the the case.

Well i've only read up on the HAF 922,932 and Tower and it is only the Tower that comes with filters, there's been a lot of complaints about the 2 other cases that it fills up with dust fast.
