having 2 networks at home

I have a virgin router and also a Deco P9 mesh, my virgin router is still in router mode as i hard cable my gaming PC to this then connect the P9 to the virgin router as well. does this cause any issues?

Not really it is just pointless/can cause you headaches when troubleshooting.

There is no reason why it shouldn't in modem mode with all routing handed over to the P9.

Alternatively have the P9 in access point mode. Still works with mesh.

Main issue is double NAT, some online games may complain about it.

Either put the VM SH in modem mode and let the P9 handle routing or put the P9 in AP mode and let it pass DHCP to the VM SH, you don't want or need double NAT in your life.
