How many people here have a desktop and a laptop?

Reason I ask is, im looking at getting a laptop but I have recently bought a brand new intel duo 3ghz, 4gb ram, 4870x2 2gb PC

But I still like the idea of using a laptop in bed, say for example

Is it justified? I guess I just need to hear someone to convince me either way lol
 
I have a laptop and desktop. Useful for when I'm out and need/want to do something on the laptop.

It's justified if you think you'll make use of it IMO.
 
Yeah I think I will use it but then im thinking why the hell did I just buy a £1500 PC ..lol

I guess ill have to play around with the idea for a bit
 
I too have both..........its nice to be able to watch telly on the couch and also surf the net. I guess it really depends on how often you would actually use it to get your money's worth from it. My plan is to either get a better spec PC and less powerful laptop or vice versa.
 
i used to have a decent Desktop setup for gaming etc, and a cheapo low spec laptop just for surfing, but ive recently sold them both to get a decent spec laptop... that way ive got a powerful machine that i can put away in a drawer when im not using it to free up some space.
 
i was pretty much in the same boat as you mate.. ps3 or netbook.. sod it thought just get this damn netbook i been salivating over them for over a year now lol.. all i say to you is.. stop thinking and just get one it will be better then you expect :D

they say its only for browsing and emailing.. rubbish to that its a full fledged mini portable pc. the beauty really lies with wifi connectivity.. because when your not gaming you DONT need your uber gaming pc on its wasting leccy. I got my netbook working over night.. in the morning it comes with me and when i get home if im not gaming im on my the sofa or bed with my girl and netbook (my mistress) :D i swear my electricity bill has been scandalous over the last year.. running this netbook it will pay for itself in time just by saving leccy!

Think I suffer from some laptop/hardware illness, I belive its carried over from desktop overclocking where once your found your oc`ing limit you want new hardware to oc\play with. With the laptops once all the wow look how cool it is factor has worn off I get bored with them and want something newer. These past 12 months I have purchased 6 new laptops, 3 netbooks and gone through just as many desktop configurations, I cant even be bothered to change my sig spec. Any one else suffering anything similar ?
