I got a new gpu recently (3070 rtx) and it seems to offer great performance, however I noticed upon restarting I get an extra long single beep immediately after my usual mobo quick single beep, and my non paged memory pool is reserving 6.5 GB for some reason from startup.

using poolmon.exe the worst culprit in my nonpaged memory seems to have the tag Dxgk which I believe is graphics related, the next worst is ObCI which is also using a lot and is apparently related to AVG/KES neither of which I have installed as far as I can tell?

would really appreciate some information from someone that has any knowledge of this stuff as I have sort of been googling my way though it.

edit: I ran C:\Windows\System32\drivers>findstr /s Dxgk *.*

and it returned something about dxgkrnl which does indeed seem to pertain to gpu things, I have tried reinstalling the most recent nvidia game ready drivers.

Maybe worth trying ddu to completely uninstall the graphics drivers from the system, then a disk clean up, then a reinstall of the drivers.

The system should run with no drivers in a basic mode.

this is a good idea, especially if you've come from an AMD card previously. What was your previous GPU?

DXGK is related to Microsoft DirectX if that helps at all.

What does your motherboard manual have to say about that beep code?
