Hi Guy my trusty old computer is having an issue. It was working fine, and I was enjoying SWTOR, went away for 2 mins and the thing had crashed, propper blue screen.
Anycase restarted and waited for it to boot, and I notice these red lines over the start up splash screen then got given another blue screen. This happened a few times, so i tried to repair and that had the same issues, just blue screened on off.
I tried changing the hard drive for a blank one and it wouldnt even let me install windows, just blue screened.

Finally I changed out my gfx card for a really really basic one that doesnt require any power and it booted straight away.

So now im confused is it gfx failing, PSU on the fritz or the something else.

SPECS
i7950- watercooled with a silverstone AIO
gigabyte ud3 x-58
6gb ram
Asus gtx580
Corsair 750 psu
Crucial 128 ssd

It might be either graphics or PSU.
Are you able to test your gtx580 in different PC? Or at least known to work PSU in your PC? Speak to a friend, they might help you.

hard to say between gpu or psu

lines on the screen like that are usually gpu memory faulty or failing

leave the gtx580 out overnight then try it again in the morning
