Having msn troubles

I'm having really bad troubles with windows live messenger. I don't receive half the messages people send me and they don't receive half of mine. I'm sure it's not our router because it works fine on everything else.

Anybody have any idea what it could be? It's really infuriating.

Faling that, is there any alternatives or would i be able to go back to msn 8?

I doubt you can get back to 8, as live is mandotary now, You can get back onto 7 though, im running it now as i cant stand live, just download it, and before you run it, change the properties ro run in windows 2000 compatability and apply it, then install it, it'll do repair, then it will let you sign in, you just have to run the installer again everytime you turn yer PC on, as when it trys to sign in again it says you have to update it, but just running the installer again, selecting repair fixes it again.

Probably the only one you can use if you dont want live (or an even older version), as 7.5 and up will only work on XP and up, but 7 works on 2000, so making it 2000 compat. will not make it say you need the newer version, as as far as its concerned yer on 2000, so can't use live anyway
