So, I am trying to clone my HDD to my new SSD at work so I can use the SSD as my new drive. I just want windows etc over to the SSD (sounds simple huh)...

I tried using TODO BACKUP but when I tried to do the system clone it kpet saying that there wasn't enough space on the SSD. Which just isnt true. Only 88GB is used on the HDD (all my work is stored on the server). And the SSD is a 250GB model. But it just kept saying it.

So, I tried cloning only the windows partition. Which did work, but the computer refused to boot to it. Even trying to recover/repair using the USB stick it was having none of it.

So. Thought I would try macrium reflect.

Exact same issue. Instantly pops up with Insufficient space.

Seriously, what the hell? I know there is sufficient space. Im trying to transfer 88GB --> 250GB

How do I sort this crap?

(already defragged before this operation).

So I managed to shrink that main partition and fit them all on. (made the big one 180GB) But now I have a new problem.

Once you copy the main partition, you need to play with the size of it. (cloned partition properties), it won't boot without the last two partitions.

Personally, I would just fresh install

5 partitions seems odd, you'll have a perfect fresh install with zero junk installed :)

yup. I am leaning towards that now. Been at this all bloody morning.

Are you trying to clone your boot disk while running it in Windows? If so, I'd say bad idea, next I'd say run Macrium Reflect from the usb rescue environment and clone the disk from there.
