Having problems with a cancelled domain

Earlier today I registered a domain with 123-reg. 15 minutes later I then realised the hosting company I am about to sign up with offer a free registration. I contacted 123-reg to ask them to cancel it which they did and said they would refund the money.

Problem is now that the domain is still showing as registered even though I cancelled it so I can't register it with the hosting company. Will it take long to show as available again?

As with a lot of hosting related things I would give it 24-48 hours, they will have to request deletion from Nominet.

I'm not 100% sure though, hopefully someone can correct me if i'm wrong

Thanks for that. About 24 hours later is was back available again and I sorted it
