*RESOLVED* Having problems with a new build - powers up but monitor won't recongise it?

Hi all,

I am having some issues with a new build. Everything powers up ok, but my monitor just displays a 'no signal' message and doesn't detect the PC. So far I have tried different monitor cables, tried the monitor with a different PC, tried 2 different graphics cards (my new one and my old one - issue occurs with both), tried different PCI-E slots, tried different power cables, and tried different monitor settings.

- The processor is a Intel 5820K 3.30GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor
- The motherboard is MSI X99S SLI Plus Intel X99 (Socket 2011)
- The graphics card is a Sapphire Radeon R9 290X 8192MB
- The PSU is a Antec High Current Gamer M 850W "80+ Bronze" Modular Power Supply

My first concern was that the graphics card or motherboard weren't getting enough power, but I have both of the motherboard power sockets plugged in and I also have the 8 pin and 6 pin connectors for the graphics card hooked up. It's my first time using a modular power supply but I am pretty confident I've got that hooked up correctly (I'm using a single power lead for the graphics card - 8 pins in half of the one of the 16 pin sockets on the PSU to 14 pins on the graphics card). All the fans in the system spin up ok and I don't hear any beeps when it starts up.

The motherboard doesn't have any onboard graphics, but as I've tried two graphics cards I'm pretty sure thats not the issue.

At this point I think the motherboard might be faulty. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem might be?

Thanks,
Doug.

Tried resetting the CMOS?

Yes that's one of the things I tried, but it didn't help in the end. Thanks for the suggestion though.

The problem ended up being fixed by removing all of the memory and fitting it back into the other memory slots (still in the same channels). For example switching the RAM modules from slot 1 channel 1, slot 1 channel 2, slot 1 channel 3, slot 1 channel 4 to slot 2 channel 1, slot 2 channel 2, slot 2 channel 3 and slot 2 channel 4.

So, this issue is now resolved.
