Basically I ran a command in terminal to help me get cube working (I can't remember what now) and this allowed me to selected extra effects (before it wouldnt let me) and it was working fine. However I restarted and now my Ubuntu is running really slow... i.e. scrolling down then having to wait about 10 seconds for it to get there. A bit like when you have no graphics drivers on your XP or whatever, slow refresh rates maybe. Anyway I thought I should install ATI drivers to see if it would fix it, and it didn't still the same problem!

So any ideas what I can do? Cheers :)

Edit: Also... On the internet people say to go to System - > Preferences -> Something or other... and I don't seem to have that option there. I've checked in one of the options which listed all of the things and it didn't say any of the ones the people on the forums have said. Any ideas on that too?

Cheers, got it working now thanks! You've been a great help :)

Now, being a noob... another problem! While doing all that I've managed to accidently remove the title bar... (Where it says at the top your internet page, close button, minimize button etc. etc.). Doh! So any ideas how to get that back?

Also... my pidgin doesnt work properly anymore. It loads, and stays open, until I try to login to my MSN where my contacts appear for about 5 seconds and then the whole program closes. Don't know why (must be a crash) so any ideas on that too?

Cheers!

press at-f2 and type metacity --replace then again alt+f2 and compiz --replace

Hmmm well that works but it's as if they work seperately... If I do metacity --replace it adds all the titles back, which is great... but then none of the compiz stuff works and I cant do stuff such as switching tabs... And if I do compiz --replace it makes all the compiz stuff work but removes the title bar etc.

Edit: Fixed Pidgin...!
