Evening...

This is my first wireless configuration, although it wasn't my choice, my dad replaced our wired router with a Home Hub :o

Now i'm using a "Buffalo Wireless PCI-G545" network card, and i've had trouble from the start.

Basically, when i first boot up my PC, i'm connected to the Home Hub, but after say, 15-20 mins my connection grinds to a halt. At this point my wireless network connection says i'm connected at 36 Mbps as apposed to 54.

After this, i lose connection all together, and i can't reconnect. I have to restart my PC about 2-3 times before it magically connects on it's own, and then the whole cycle starts again.

Anybody know what's going on? My first thought was that it's the home hub, but my dad is using the same wireless card on his pc, and doesn't have any trouble at all, i've even got a better signal than him

Any clues? :)

First thing I would do is check to see if there any updated drivers and then for an uninstall and reinstall of the Buffalo drivers.

If still having a problem then next I would swap the card you are using for the card in your Dads machine and see if he gets the same issues or not that you were having. This would prove or disprove the issue to be the card.

If after that you are still having the issues on your machine with the card from his machie then it is going to be something on your machine. Tyr a different PCI slot on the machine

Thanks, good thinking :)

I'll give it a try soon
