Long time user of OC - built this PC with it..phew back in 2010 or so, and thought you talented guys and girls could help out.

I currently have a two monitor setup- one BenQGL2450, and another 'Television' monitor.

Issue:
-Television 'monitor' is being used for audio, but is VERY tinny.
-Found a 'Sweex SP024UK' L-R and sub setup, so have been trying to set it up.

Best case:
-Audio out of right speaker and sub

Worst case:
-Audio out of sub only, poor quality

I've tried:
-Uninstalling and reinstalling realtek drivers
-Various audio ports (2)
-Updating (in my opinion) unnecessary stuff

Specs:
Z68AP-D3
[email protected]
8GB RAM
120GB SSD
AMD 6850HD

Am I being unbelievably stupid or:

- Should I buy some new 20 quid speakers and avoid hassle
- Am I missing something obvious

Appreciate the help!

Edit: Only way I get audio through the sub is:

Do the speakers work OK? Can you plug them into a smartphone or tablet to test them, make sure they are working OK. If there is any issue with the speakers, it would be fruitless task to try and resolve the issue at the PC end. ;)

No sense to buy something new before speakers have been tested in any other sound source to make sure they work correctly.

Though it's well possible that also integrated sound card of that old mobo is sucktastic in quality.
But that's thing for after we know that those speakers are in working shape.
