Everything has been fine with this motherboard but since installing an SSD and switching to AHCI, I'm finding that it hangs when booting up for as much as 2 minutes!! It only seems to happen if I power off the machine completely and then power back on, and then not every time. (I'm also much more aware of now long th BIOS check takes, but think that's the consequence of having an SSD and noticing th9inhs taking longer elsewhere).

I've done a search on this and it has happened to others but I'd like to sort it if possible. Just when I thought I had everything set up nicely....

Any help much appreciated :)

Here's my boot sequence after powering off and leaving for 20 secs and powering back on again:

1. Searches between Digital, HDMI and Analogue before settling on Digital - anyway to stop this happening?
2. Gigabyte motherboard image
3. AHCI Init, Ctrl +A for Hyper Drive Utility
4. Verifying DMI Data pool

After this sequence the machine hangs before there's a click and windows launches very quickly. Sometimes it just hangs for about 15 secs but if the machine is off for a while its more like 2 miutes!! Also the sequence is not always the same, sometimes 2 and 4 are missed out??

Can anyone help me reduce the time it takes to run through this and stop this hang on power up?

Many thanks :)
