I'm pretty new to PC's and have searched up and down for an understandable guide to overclocking my operton 144, but I still can't understand it.

Can anyone give me a basic step by step guide in a way I will understand :) Cheers.

hi m8, its pretty daunting overclocking these a64 systems at 1st but if you take it all in slowly it gets a whole lot easier!.

what cant you understand?

you have a great cpu to overclock! what is the rest of your system? ram, motherboard etc...

let us know and I'll give you an hand no probs.

also have a read of this a64 overclocking guide....

oh i see, well the lanparty nf4 is an excellent mb, but it isn’t really a great board for the newbie so take it easy and keep most of the ram settings on auto for now until your are confident enough and know why and what setting you are changing.
I really recommend you read the dfi overclocking guide to get to grips with this board.

to be fair you wasted 50 quid then, you could have snapped up an asrock dual sata 2 board for half that and it would overclock out the box just as well and need less tweaking.
btw don’t forget the no swearing policy geez!!
