Ok, I have a USB Drive on one of my LAN PCs

I turn it on, and, it comes up as T: ( As I want it to ) and away I go.

However...

Whenever I want a Networked PC read its file, I have to keep going back to the PC its connected to, and re-shared the files

Ok, this is NOT that much of a chore I know, but surely there must be a way I can get it to keep the sharing info?

Any ideas?

The PC its connected to is V64U and my other PCs are either Vista64 or XP64

Sharing as T$?

When I try forcing that name I get a error saying that its already done as that.

the $ shares are already shared by the OS. mejinks means try and access said share, you don't need to setup the share :)

I think that would happen on all removable media wouldn't it - never a persistant share as it does what it says on the tin, its removable.
Could be wrong though :)

I see... Of course yes, this is what happens on the Linux box... That sees both the $ and the names share and will see the T$ even without its named share also!

Ok, I will give it a shot.

Many thanks for that.

I think though, that I should really just plonk all those files onto my Server and have done with it... Why I keep thm seperate I dont know? its just one of those things I suppose?
