Trying to fit a HSF to my Mum's new motherboard, but I can't work out what the plasic lever is for on the HSF. It's been a while since I built a computer and the chips/HSF fitting have changed so I'm lost!

It's clipped on to the motherboard on both sides and has good contact with the chip.... I just don't know what the lever is for and am worried I'll knacker the chip or the HSF if I force it.

The lever won't turn clockwise or anticlockwise once fitted without feeling like it's going to snap. All the lever seems to move is the metal clip, which just rocks from side to side. Do I need to worry about it? The HSF seems fairly well secured, but I can move it slightly clockwise/anticlockwise.

Help!!!

Push it boy, you'll swear the board or the lever's gonna snap but it'll be fine :D
Less of the boy please!! ;)

All sorted now. Just needed the confidence to know that it wouldn't snap off or break into 1,000 tiny pieces if I forced it. Thanks all :)
