having trouble getting my rear speakers work

i have had the speakers in the link since around june time which when first bought worked all fine. at around september i had to unplug the rear ones as i the position they were in meant that they couldn't reac the pc. i have finally just exteneed the cable and they now reach, but for some unknown reason they aren't making a noise. I have changed the rear speakers to being plugged into the front and they work when in the front but just not in the back.

i have checked the sounds and audio devices in control panel and my computyer is set as having 5.1 speakers.

anyone know why the rear speakers don't work?

What soundcard do you have?

I have a X-Fi audio card. All my speakers were working fine until i had to unplug some cables, then for some reason when i plugged them back in the rear speakers wouldn't work. I had to uninstall the drivers and re-do the Creative set-up program configuring my speakers all over again. Have no idea why this happened . Hope it helps
