I play a lot of Counter-Strike Source matches and have found that i struggle to hear where players are, most of my team mates say didnt you hear him etc etc.

I have a X-Fi Titanium and a Speedlink 5.1 headset, does anyone know of any settings that i need to tweak or anything to improve this?

Thanks

Just make sure that your volume is on full and if possible, lower the bass to your headset. This will help make things like footsteps more obvious for some people. I guess most of the problem with not hearing correctly in game could be down to pressure or nerves when playing against another team. You just need to learn to be more alert and prioritise sounds whenever you can.

Hope that helps. I don't think there's much more to say :p

EDIT: Also make sure that your sound option is set to 'Headphones' rather than '2 Speakers' in game, as this will make all the difference ;)

Your Medusas are the issue. Get some decent stereo 'phones such as Goldrings or Sennies combined with a Mic of the 'bay and you will be amazed by the surround sound that is produced. I used to have the Medusas and upgraded to Senn HD555s and haven't looked back ;)
