So im about to purchase a few parts namely two fans and a fan controller but it says my card is declined. tried another and it also said it was declined. is there something wrong with the system? is it down?

its then asking me to call them and it says select today or tomorrow but there is no option for this.

help?

EDIT: ive ordered off ocuk a number of times and had no problems.

what it says:
Sorry, but your order has been declined by the card issuer.

If you are unable to checkout through the website and would like to complete your order by telephone one of our sales team can call you at a time of your choosing to confirm the details and complete the payment - all your details from this order attempt will be saved so you will not need to give us any extra information

Please select if you would like your call Today or Tomorrow.

This may be due to a number of reasons:

1. To incorrect details in the invoice address
2. Errors in the start date or expiry date
3. Errors with the issue number (Maestro only)
4. Errors in the security code (the 3 digits on the back of your card)
5. Insufficient funds in your bank or card account
6. A fraud checking system at your card issuer could have flagged the transaction as 'non typical spend'.

Please do the following;

- Check the details that you entered (issues 1-4)
- If the transaction is still declined contact your card provider who may be able to assist so that you can checkout normally.

Have you used your card a lot recently?

I did a lot of card purchases in one week about 6 months ago, which were all mid-high value.

Fraud squad at Barclays blocked the card as assumed to be stolen. But they didnt bother to contact me, the cardholder to let me know they had done this.

Much embarrassment at a couple of checkouts ensued until i rang barclays to get it sorted.

Also....daft question but have you checked your bank balance?

Same thing happened with me. I paid for a birthday party at 4am for about £1500. Next day buying fuel my card was declined.

When I rang them they said they thought it had been a suspicious transaction and had put a hold on the card.

Nice of them to ring me :(

God help you when you go to the USA, buy some expensive meals and some hotel bills....the card gets blocked for being used suspiciously....meanwhile you are in the desert and need some gas.....and oh there is no cell phone service.

Enjoy.

It should be the law that your bank has to make every effort to contact you once they block your card. just blocking it and waiting for you to phone up fuming is annoying. I appreciate why they do it and i would rather they blocked cards than not block them but they SHOULD have to contact you asap after the block.

/rant off/

My fathers card got blocked because he tried to buy my new PC with it :p At least they rang to check it was still in our posession

I had this when i bought my new system (in my sig) two weeks ago. Basically my bank said that this was "unusual spending activity" and so blocked it. All i did was phone up, answer a few security questions (to prove it was me) and then confirm that it was my intention to spend £xxx at overclockers.co.uk :)
