Having trouble with XP Pro activation

I have a new PC with new OEM activation coe.

Unlike previous installatons, it's forcing me to activate immediately (normally get 30 days). However, there is no net connection yet.

So I opt for the telephone activation process.

The automated phone service is asking for a series of 6 digits...??? What on earth are these?

At the moment I can't get into windows.

Any ideas?

Windows should say "windows requires activation how would you like to proceed" (or along those lines) from there in there will be an option to activate windows by phone, go through this.

You are then displayed the series of numbers which you have to give over the phone, the callcentre will then give you a code back which you put into the empty boxes, this will allow you to activate windows.

What dave-lew99 said. You get a screen with some numbers to give Microsoft over the phone. You then get a load of number series to enter into the empty boxes. XP should then activate.
