Hay diogenese what's with the output?

I'm having trouble getting a connection to the internet with ubuntu, I can get on the forums etc. but can't get through to stanford.
As a complete linux noob I'm still confused by it all :o
I'v also been playing with muon1 but now I've been stomped by the aussies I'll be back on FaH with my main rig as soon as I have it sorted:)
 
no, I can't. I can get OcUK but that is slower than it is on XP. some other sites time out too.
What I don't get is I run with a 2meg broadband on a modem/router so the OS shouldn't make a difference. I can get something so why the slowness and timeouts :confused:

sounds like a job for the Linux part of the forums :o


I had a look at Ubuntu earlier today but it scared me :D
Also need to work out how to get my USB wifi adapter working first

I am running 2 Linux boxes through USB wifi adapters, linksys WUSB54G v.4 to be exact.

As regards Dio's issues with websites, can you ping both the URL and the IP?

Sounds like a DNS issue to me.
