Hi there!

I'm just about to order Haze, and was iffing and umming about ordering it from the UK or US.

I've ordered most of my games from the UK, and a few from the US, mainly down to price.

The difference isn't huge... I can get from the us for £29.99 or from the UK for £34.99 The US version is out slightly sooner, but allowing for shipping, would probably work out around the same, give or take a day or two.

I was just wondering if anybody knew of any actual differences in the games themselves?

In the past, I've read in here, about US imports favouring US servers for multiplayer, or maybe not even having the option to use Euro servers?
Also, games like Ninja Gaiden were censored somewhat in the UK, the decaps at least.

Usually it's just single player games I import, like DiRT, and got Ratchet preordered.

So, just wondering if anybody knew of any differences between the two versions? If not, I may as well just order from the states, and save £5.

The online part doesn't bother me overly, as I don't game online much, but, sometimes it's nice to have the option, just in case... but I didn't even try R:FOM online yet ;) (Beyond a quick peek, and to download the patches)

I'd be careful V1N, recent UK release dates have slipped, where as the US ones have remained intact.

I'd probably go with the US one, haven't read a reason not to anywhere mate.

When is it due out btw?

US is listed for Nov 20.

UK is 23rd, or 30th, depending on which store you look.

To be honest, I'll probably just go for the import, and put the £5 towards the next game. Oops, just remembered, got Stranglehold Spec Edition still to come from them too :) Hard Boiled in HD goodness ;)

R&C to come from them too, £29.99

Hey V1N should you ever decide to sell that for any reason in the MM, give me first dibs, had to cancel my pre-order due to a slight financial crisis and redundancys looming

I'm assuming I know where you're getting them from, everytime I've used them they've taken an age to deliver.

I doubt I will ;)
I'm afraid I'm a bit of a hoarder ;)

Saying that, I am trying to get rid of my COD3, I don't think I'll ever play that again ;) Already got someone interested in that though ;)

If it is indeed the same place, sometimes they can take their tyme!

lol

DiRT for example arrived in a week from order, I ordered Underworld bluray from them, took less than a week.... another bluray I ordered from them though, it's taken them 6 days just to get as far as processing my order, so that's gunna be about another week for delivery now.

Still, I'm patient enough for that... the stuff I've ordered in the past month or so has saved me around £40-£50. Generally £5-£10 per game cheaper, and blurays a good £5 or more cheaper. Most PS3 games are £30ish.
It's not always best, but when it is, £10 a time soon adds up!

OK, that's that preordered as well.
£29.99 (was £30.99, but I had a £1 voucher... woo!) ;)

Phew, got Haze, Stranglehold Spec Edition and R&C on preorder just from that store. (Not including blurays)

Owning a PS3 is expensive!! ;)
(and whoever keeps saying there are no games out for it? It's keeping me poor!) ;)

and at the risk of sounding rude, or heartless.. if you want to make a few quid back, give me first dibs on any games/blurays you wanna shift. I'm always on the market for a good bargain. ;)

Hmmm, I'd have to think about it.
Not actually played RB6 Vegas... well, beyond a demo briefly on the PC.

A mate was going to sell me his PC version when he's done, but after reading what you and Jihad put in the other thread, maybe the PS3 version would be worth trying.

Not sure, but by all means, let me know, when the time comes.
Too bad there's no PS3 demo to try.

I did try the GRAW2 demo, but I hated it ;)

Yeah wasn't too keen on GRAW2 myself, though I believe the PS3 port is a shoddy one, its apparently better on 360.

Love Vegas though :D

Well being honest other than The Darkness (which did play fine on the PS3 but had bad-jagies compared to the 360 version) Can't say i'm all that bothered really, none of them appeal to me personally.

Nono, I was just agreeing, and laughing after my previous threads rant.

There are still some bad ones slipping through, I expected better from Skate, though not Graw for some reason, but it's getting better.

Yeah, funny about the jaggies in The Darkness.
I assume it's because that was a 1080p game, so they assumed at 1080p it wouldn't need AA?

I'm not sure what this means for TVs that can't do 1080p though.
Do they run the game at 1080i? Or do they run at 720p, and look even more jaggy? I think they'd have been better off doing it in 720p, with AA. Still, it was a brilliant game though... I found it really hard to put down.

Yeah fantastic game mate, the lack of AA didn't spoil it for me one bit.

Is that so far or will ever be?

I think officially their line is the same as the PSP, which is along the lines of "All Sony published games will be region free, and third parties can choose." In the PSPs life-cycle so far (2.5 yrs) I have yet to see a third party region code a game, and the same of the PS3.
