hi,

im thinking of getting an xbox to play on live with a few friends,

but rather than useing my tv, i was thinking i could use my pc monitor.

Hazro HZ27WC , but due to cost's i could only get the dual link dvi version

is it just as simple to buy a cable like this? and it works?

you can't use the WC with a console mate. It has no scalers in it so can't display the lower resolution required by the console

No can do, you cannot magically boost the signal of HDMI to match that of dual-link DVI. All the cables you may find claiming to do this are nonsense.

The only solutions that will work cost a lot more than the price difference between the HZ27WC and HZ27WD. If you want a 27" you're stuck with those that actually accept a HDMI input (so something with scalers like the HZ27WD or Dell u2711.. or one of the many Full HD 27" screens).
