Hazro HZ30Wi HDCP support issue

I've just put a Blu-ray drive in my PC with the hope of using it to watch films. However, I am unable to watch HDCP protected content for some reason. My graphics card is a GTX 580, and it is connected to a Hazro HZ30Wi.

Looking in the display section of the nVidia panel it states 'Your system is not HDCP-capable' as 'Your display does not support HDCP'. This is with driver version 266.58. However, the Hazro manual (and website) state that this monitor has '1 x Dual Link DVI-D [HDCP Supported]'.

I've tried connecting the monitor to a different PC with a 9800GT card in it (same driver version) and it states the same thing.

Anyone encountered the same problem before, or has this working? Thanks.

Do you have another HDCP compatible monitor to test with? Just to eliminate things. Different cable? And so on...

Unfortunately not. My TV has HDCP (and has a working Blu-ray player attached to it), but has no DVI connection. The GFX card has a mini-HDMI port so I could test over this, except that I don't have a mini-HDMI to HDMI cable. I am going to order one to test this, but it will take a few days. The only dual-link DVI cable I have is the one which came with the monitor.

Hmm, well testing those first is a logical step - start with the HDMI route, rather than getting another DVI cable - as they are fairly pricy.

Eliminating your hardware from the issue is probably best.

Set your resolution to 1920 * 1200 and try then....

I've got 3008WFP and at 1920 * 1200 HDCP content works, at 2560 * 1600 it doesn't (lame i know, although never thought about trying another cable)

Nope - seems 1920x1200 doesn't do the trick on this monitor. I then tried all of the HD resolutions in the nvidia control panel with no joy. I've ordered some cables to check connecting the PC to my TV and the monitor over an HDMI->DVI adaptor - I'll try these when they arrive.

Has anyone successfully got HDCP content working on this monitor?

One of the cables I ordered turned up today, so I was able to connect my PC to my HDCP capable TV over a digital connection. And it worked fine, so everything else in the PC is up to the job.

Is there anyone on this forum who has managed to get HDCP content working on the HZ30Wi?

Hmm I'm in the same boat as you Wolseley. I have a 580 and a 30" Hazro and I get the "..does not support HDCP" message in the Nvidia panel. I just assumed the display didn't have HDCP support but now that you mention it it clearly states on OCuk that it does.
