Firstly i'm really sorry if this subject has been asked and answered before.

My story starts with a very happy owner of a 24" Hazro which I bought from Overclockers a few years ago and was a very happy owner. Unfortunately a few months ago I took it into a well known pawn shop on the high street to pawn to pay off a few desperate bills. On getting the monitor back I made the mmistake of not testing it immediately and left it in the box for a few weeks.

When I did get it out of the box and set it up I first noticed no green power light on the power brick. Then of course no power to monitor. Searching around for a new power brick which I hoped was the problem I ordered one from the UK from an online auction. When I recieved the replacement power brick (or one with same power details) the green light it had was flashing as soon as I plugged it into my monitor. The monitor as then and now still does not work.

I've called nearby repair shops and none want to touch it especially when I tell them the odd power requirements (120w 5 pin etc) and just want to sell me a new one. I would do this but it was £550 when I bought it and still believe it to be one of best monitors around so don't have the feeling to just bin it.

Has anyone gone through the same situation and can offer some good advice. I'm still unsure if it is simply the power brick that is causing the problem but cannot believe that something would have just suddenly gone wrong with the monitor itself.

Is there a simple solution to my woes?

Please help.

Many thanks

My Hazro (27" WD) monitor had the same problem. Mine went pop after two years so that's what probably happened to yours when it was at the pawn shop after some numbskull plugged it into a ghetto power extension or something.

I guess it's fixable, but you'd need to dismantle it and replace the boards capacitor/s (if they've blown). Not exactly an easy fix!

That's the problem with Hazro. Nice panels but desperately poor build quality and components... I'll never touch the monitors again, not even with a barge pole.
