My card seems to be randomly crashing at 2d clocks with temps of ~30C and will pass atitool/game testing at 3d clocks all day long.

So, the only problem i can think of is the voltage regulators overheating. just wondering before, i go purchase some extra ramsinks, what are the symptoms of vrm overheating? Also, should a standard stress test reveal problems with vrm temps?

Thanks.

Did you mod the card, such as changing the cooler?
If not, I suggest you to check if there's any gap between the cooler and the VRM's. Because VRM overheating problems are very rare with reference cards.

 You got to be way off there...They are not going to fail when they are not doing any work, and work fine when working hard at full load !

Nothing is impossible but how did You arrive at this conclusion ?
